Dr Olav Espegren is the new Director at Haydom(Published 10.06.2010) The announcement of the position as Managing Medical Director "at Haydom Lutheran Holspital (HLH) for a new 5 - year period, had application deadline 21th.of May 2010. The announcement from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT) required among other things that the new director must be a trustworthy Christian Medical Doctor (MD) with a specialist qualification in any field of medicine, may be able to speak fluent Swahili and have extensive experience as a hospital administrator. As far as known to HDC, Dr. Olav Espegren applied, received and accepted the position. Dr Espegren was born in 1942 and holds a MD from the University of Oslo. He is an approved specialist in psychiatry, and has particularly worked with dependency problems. Now he is retired from his former position as chief psychiatrist at “Sørlandet” Hospital I Norway. During his career dr Espegren has spent a total 5 years as a physician at HLH, and also served as Director at HLH for a period of approximately one year. He has also been engaged in hospital administration in Hong Kong. Dr Olav Espegren got the Norwegian King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 2008. HDC would like to wish Dr Olav Espegren welcome as the new Managing Medical Director at HLH. We look forward to a good and constructive cooperation.
